There will be no intake for first-year students in the Graduate Diploma in Special Needs Resource Teaching (GDSNRT) in 2010. This programme is only offered in 2010 to second-year returning students.
Victoria University of Wellington, the University of Auckland and the University of Waikato have signed a contract with the Ministry of Education to deliver four university courses leading to a Graduate Diploma in Special Needs Resource Teaching.
The programme is designed to provide appropriate professional development for experienced teachers who work in schools as resource personnel in the area of special education and who have been appointed to RTLB positions. It is a specialist graduate qualification that will improve the educational experience of special needs students.
Three years' teaching experience, and a degree of appropriate professional experience. Participants should currently be teaching in a classroom environment as an RTLB.
This qualification involves two years to four years of part time study.
Four courses:
| EDUC 561 | SNRT 801:Students in Contexts |
| EDUC 562 | SNRT 802:Classroom in Contexts |
| EDUC 563 | SNRT 803:School and Community Contexts |
| EDUC 564 | SNRT 804:Professional Practice Portfolio |
