Early Childhood

The Faculty of Education offers the following early childhood teacher education qualifications:

• BA/BTeach(ECE) - four year, campus-based conjoint degree programme
• Bachelor of Education (Teaching) EC - there will be no intake for first year students in the BEd(Tchg)EC degree programme in 2010. Students who have successfully completed the first or second year of the degree will be able to progress to the next year
• Bachelor of Education (Teaching) EC Upgrade- for teachers who wish to upgrade to a degree qualification from a New Zealand Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education), a recognised NZQA equivalent or Kindergarten Diploma
• Graduate Diploma of Teaching (ECE) - a programme for applicants with an undergraduate degree or primary teaching qualification
• Bachelor of Education (Whakaako) ECE Whāriki Papatipu - three year, centre-based programme.

As places in these programmes are limited, we recommend you apply as soon as possible.
