Profile
Louise gained experience as a classroom teacher, curriculum leader and senior manager in a range of New Zealand secondary schools prior to following a passion to research and teach about what it means to be a teacher or a learner in the twenty-first century.
Current Research
Louise is interested in teacher professional learning, the future of schooling, the use of digital technologies in the teaching and learning process, the nature of knowledge, complexity theory and preservice teacher education.
Current research includes:
- examining student teacher learning during practicum
- policy and implementation of initial teacher education programmes
- evaluating the implementation of course endorsement for NCEA.
- complexity theory as a theoretical framework for research.
Louise is interested in supervising postgraduate and PhD thesis research in the areas of teacher education policy and the use of digital technologies in the teaching and learning process
