Special Topic: Patent Law and Innovation

A study of the law and policy of patents. Topics will include the subject matter of patents, patent novelty and other requirements for registration of a patent; matauranga Maori and patents and the legal parameters of patent infringement. The underlying policy of patent law to support innovation and economic development will be discussed.
