StaffVenezia KingiSenior Research FellowVenezia Kingi joined the Institute of Criminology in 1999. She is a graduate in psychology from Victoria University with a PhD on women in prison and their children. She previously worked in the Office of the Commissioner for Children, and the Law Faculty at Victoria University. Other research in which she has been involved has focused on jury decision-making processes, child offenders, child witnesses in court and prison parenting programmes. Venezia is currently working on the Public Defence Service Pilot evaluation for the Legal Services Agency, and a review of the use of restorative justice processes in family violence cases for the Ministry of Justice. She has recently completed a fiver year evaluation of Te Poutama Arahi Rangatahi a Child Youth and Family Residence for adolescent sex offenders. Previous work includes two studies for the Office of Film and Literature Classification about viewers of adult movies, and the evaluation of the Court-referred Restorative Justice pilot for the Ministry of Justice. |
