ServicesThe centre has a team of well qualified and experienced staff who have qualifications in a range of social science disciplines. They all have both quantitative and qualitative research skills, and academic expertise and experience in providing services to policy makers. Research is carried out in collaboration with Māori and Pacific peoples and with other researchers from a range of backgrounds throughout the country. The Centre aims to provide research, evaluation and consultancy services to the crime and justice sector and to increase knowledge and understanding of issues relating to crime and justice. It does this by producing research and providing policy advice of the highest academic quality and by promulgating its findings, both within New Zealand and internationally, in practitioner, policy and academic forums. The CJRC has strong academic networks in and outside Victoria University, including those with interest in Mäori-related research. When appropriate, it enters collaborative relationships with other university researchers, and those in the private sector (for example market research organisations). The services it provides are:
RESEARCH TRUST The Centre tenders for externally funded research through the Research Trust which is the research and consultancy arm of Victoria University of Wellington. Its staff provides expertise in contract management, accounting and budgeting. |
