Chinese Language in New Zealand Secondary Schools

The number of students learning Chinese at New Zealand primary schools is growing well, but drops off significantly at secondary level.

The challenge facing New Zealand is to build numbers at secondary level to there is a pathway for those interesting in continuing at the tertiary level.

This one day conference / workshop will bring together Principals and heads of language departments to discuss how to build the numbers of students learning Chinese at secondary schools.

Sponsored by the New Zealand China Council, the conference is supported by the Ministry of Education, Confucius Institutes, Wang Yu, Asia New Zealand Foundation, Embassy of the People's Republic of China in New Zealand, and International Languages Exchanges and Pathways (ILEP).
