David & Bathsheba
2 Samuel 11:2. One evening King David got up from his bed and walked around the roof of the palace, and then started surfing the Net. All of a sudden up popped a thumb-nail of a beautiful woman bathing. “Hmm – lets just click on the full size, hi-res Bathsheba.jpg.” Before summer was out, he had got her pregnant and murdered her husband.


The Foot Prints Poem
I dreamt that I was walking with Jesus on a beach. When I looked back at the footprints of my life stretching out on the sand, I saw sometimes there were two sets of prints and sometimes only one. I said to Jesus, “Why did you leave me at those times?” And he said, “Because you were perving at the topless sunbathers. Man, you’re so embarrassing to be around sometimes.”


Zacchaeus
Luke 19:2-5. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was the chief tax collector and he was wealthy. He ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree. Jesus stopped under the tree and called up to him, “Zacchaeus! What are you doing outside that woman’s window?”

Porn. Peeping. Perving. It’s a guy thing. There’s a hotline straight from the eyeballs to the testicles, and becoming a Christian doesn’t seem to shut it down. I’d have to confess to having had very little experience of being a woman, but I have been a guy for a while, and I know that eyeball sex can be a pretty powerful thing. I suspect females are wired differently, and so Cosmopolitans, Harlequins and Mills & Boon stuff are more into mental images than actual images. But it all gets you to the same place: Sexual feelings without any relationship. Sex without love without interaction, without communication, without intimacy, without giving. It’s lousy sex.

Page space is limited, so here’s just one thought on the topic. Porn is people. They are real pictures of real people, doing real things in front of a camera. You don’t know them – they’re Americans or Asians or Eastern Europeans, but they are people. You’re only looking at their skin, but they have hearts and souls, and Jesus loves them. Perhaps you think they must be “gross sinners” to do things like that without conscience and yet they are doing it for you. Even if you are just browsing the free preview sites on the Net, those people were paid money to have sex so you could watch. The porn industry will pay these people for you now, because they know that if you get a taste for this stuff, it’s a worthwhile bet that eventually you will pay. You are participating in an industry that abuses people. You are watching loveless coupling, mere empty skin-on-skin sex without intimacy, trust or permanence. You are watching a person shed their self-esteem, lose their dignity, and suffer abuse – for your sexual thrill. You are perhaps even watching someone in the very moment of contracting an STD, maybe even AIDS, for your pleasure. You are part of the process of their degradation.

Does Jesus have pictures of that porn-model on his hard-drive? Of course not. But if he’s got a wallet, he’s probably got her picture in that. And if you met him in the street, he’d pull it out and show it to you and say, “Have you seen my beautiful little girl? Isn’t she lovely?”

Mate, don’t do it to your sister.
