Christian Feminism?

The feminist critique of historic Christianity has left many, both Christians and feminists, believing ‘Christian Feminism’ to be an oxymoron. While various alternative spiritualities have sought to address the issues involved, the voice of theologians coming from a more orthodox position is seldom heard.

In September 2000, AngChap sponsored a one day seminar, Christian Feminism? The main presenter at the seminar was Nicola Hoggard Creegan.

Nicola Hoggard Creegan is a New Zealander. She to New Zealand in 2000 after 15 years of studying and teaching in the USA. Her undergraduate work at Victoria was in pure and applied mathematics. She has a Masters degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts and a PhD in theology from Drew University in New Jersey where she has also lectured. She was recently appointed as lecturer in theology at the Bible College of New Zealand, Henderson. Nicola is actively involved in research in science, religion and healing, and in feminist theology. She has co-authored and is about to publish her first book concerning feminism and evangelicalism.
