Environmental Management

What is the University doing about environmental management?

Victoria University is committed to being an environmentally responsible organisation. As well as leading climate change research and teaching, we are actively working towards reducing our environmental footprint with support from staff and students.

Areas of environmental improvement that the University is working on are:

  • Strategy and reporting
  • Energy management
  • Transport
  • Waste
  • Water
  • Procurement
  • Biodiversity
  • Teaching and Research
  • Environmental Compliance

An Environmental Policy was developed in 2006. The Environmental Committee is responsible for environmental initiatives at the University.

A Sustainability Guide has been published for Victoria University staff and students. It provides practical, easy-to-read advice and ideas on how to be more environmentally sustainable while at University.

Each year the University with the support of the environment committee and SMT, approve an Environmental Action Plan.
