Youth Voices, Youth Choices

The Centre for Applied Cross-cultural Research and Va’aomanu Pasifika have received a two year $400,000 grant from the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology for Youth Voices, Youth Choices: Identity, Integration and Social Cohesion in Culturally Diverse Aotearoa/New Zealand.

The project will engage youth from Chinese, Pacific and Muslim communities to understand their aspirations for social integration and the indicators and determinants of their participation and success. The research seeks to identify strategies that can be used to promote positive identity, capacity building and leadership within and between ethnic and Muslim communities.

The project is led Professor Colleen Ward and conducted in association with Associate Professor James Liu, Tagaloa Associate Professor Peggy Fairbairn-Dunlop and Dr. April Henderson.

This is a major project for CACR and more information will be added to this page as the project develops.
