CACR scoops international prizes.
The International Academy of Intercultural Research (IAIR) has awarded the:
EARLY CAREER AWARD to Dr Ron Fischer. This award recognizes individuals who have made substantial contributions to the field of intercultural relations early in their careers, Ron has also been invited to present some of his research at the Sixth Biennial Conference of the International Academy of Intercultural Research to be held in Groningen, the Netherlands, in July.
BEST DOCTORAL DISSERTATION award to En-Yi (Judy) Lin for her thesis entitled: Developmental, Social and Cultural Influences on Identity Conflict in Overseas Chinese. Judy has been invited to present her work at the IAIR 2007 Conference. Judy was supervised by Assoc Prof James Liu and Professor Colleen Ward. The IAIR Best Dissertation Award is intended to recognize and honor outstanding research by aspiring intercultural researchers. Support for the award is provided by the Academy and Elsevier Sciences, Ltd. Prize US $1000.00, one year membership in IAIR and free registration at the IAIR Biennial Conference when the prize is conferred.
BEST DOCTORAL DISSERTATION (runner-up): Chan-Hoong Leong received a runner up award for the best dissertation. His PhD was entitled: A multi-level Research Framework for the Analyses of Attitudes toward Immigrants. Chan Hoong was supervised by Assoc Prof James Liu and Professor Colleen Ward.
International Academy for Intercultural Research (IAIR): the purpose of IAIR is to promote and facilitate intercultural research in the areas of psychology, communications, education, management, and other areas of specialization in the social sciences. The Academy encourages high quality intercultural research at the doctoral level, which is usually the starting point for independent research. |
