Simon Twose

Senior Lecturer, Architecture

BArch(hons), Auck ANZIA registered architect

Background

Simon is currently a praciticing architect in a small wellington practice and teaches at the School of Architecture, part time. He has taught in a peripheral capacity in several architecture schools since graduating from Auckland and has 20 years experience in the practice world.

He is interested in architectural practice as an experimental activity, testing links between theory and practice and currently teaches in construction and design.

Research Interests

Simon's research interests include

  • Connections and transferences between practice and theory
  • Architecture and other disciplinary practices
  • Spatio-temporal concerns related to occupation, understanding of space
  • Media related issues of space and
  • Architectural practice as an experimental activity and built projects as a form of critical practice.
