Maibritt Pedersen Zari

Lecturer, Architecture

Background

Maibritt holds a Bachelor of Design, majoring in Interior Architecture. As an Lecturer for the School of Architecture, she teaches and coordinates the field of sustainable architecture.

She has researched and published on issues relating to sustainability in the built environment, biomimicry and biophilia, and is working on a PhD dissertation investigating biomimicry as a method to address climate change impacts on the New Zealand built environment.

Research Interests

Maibritt's research interests include

  • Biomimicry and ecology in relation to architectural design
  • Biophilia, wellbeing and psychological aspects of sustainability
  • Regenerative development and design and
  • Social justice issues in relation to the built environment.
