Master's Design Research review and public lectures May 2013

Well-regarded architects Bijoy Jain (Studio Mumbai) and Anthony Hoete (WHAT_Architecture) are to give presentations this week as a part of the 2013 Master’s Design Research review.

The Master’s Design Research event is to be held on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th May at the Faculty of Architecture and Design. This is the review for master’s students from the School of Architecture working towards the MIA, March (Prof) and the MLA.

“Our master’s students effectively form a large research engine: in their year-long thesis, they will amass almost 100 person-years of design work that can provide useful insights into a wide range of issues. The May Reviews showcase the first three months of design investigations from students” says Director of Postgraduate Programmes Simon Twose.

The two day event includes a large-scale crit exhibition in the Atrium, along with two evening lectures, three seminars, and an impressive list of visiting scholars. With over 90 students involved in the review, it is a great opportunity to showcase the incredible work that comes out of the school, and participate in discourse with award-winning architects.

Public Lectures:

Bijoy Jain, 6pm, Thursday 9th May, City Gallery Wellington

Anthony Hoete, 6pm, Friday 10th May, LT1 Faculty of Architecture and Design, 139 Vivian Street
