STUDiO

STUDiO is the representative group for all architecture and design students. Operating from the Vivian St campus, STUDiO is there to ensure that SoAD students get the most from their campus life. As well as resolving various student issues, we spend our time organizing such delights as design competitions, the lecture series, BBQs and the yearly architecture and design ball. The ball (mid-2nd trimester) is Wellington’s most anticipated annual event, a visual and aural extravaganza.

How do I get involved?

All enrolled students at the Faculty of Architecture and Design are automatically members of VUWSA and STUDiO. Officers and exec are elected or appointed positions.

Decision-making is by consensus at our fortnightly meetings.

We are always looking for cool ideas for new things to do around school. STUDiO is keen to support any reasonable idea, all you need to do is email us, or come to a meeting if you have any suggestions - about anything at all!

We also encourage students to become members of the relevant professional organisations. Student membership of the NZIA and DINZ keeps you up to date with local and national events and gets you invited to all sorts of industry gigs.

We are constantly working on strengthening our ties to other student organisations, including those at Massey, Weltec and the Auckland Schools of Architecture.

We have our very own spot on campus - the RED COLUMN in the atrium (next to the stairwell). This is where we pin up posters and information on what's happening and when - especially meetings! Everyone is welcome to come along, make suggestions and find out what we're up to now.
