Student and Academic Services

This page contains information that we hope will be helpful to your studies, including how to plan your course of study and where to get support when you need it.

Welcome

Welcome to the School of Architecture at Victoria. You, our student, are very important to us. We are here to help and support you through your studies in whatever way we can. We pride ourselves on being a friendly and approachable team.

In your first year, you may have questions and concerns that you think are too trivial to raise. We want you to know that nothing related to your studies at Victoria is too small or too big for us. We may be able to solve your problem directly, or else source help or information from one of our Schools or from Central Services. Whatever it is, it’s our job to help you through to a good solution.

We look forward to seeing many of you progress to postgraduate studies. As you advance in your studies, your questions and concerns may become more complex, but will be no less important to us. We will still be there to assist you.

If you are a Maori or Pacific Nations student, we would be pleased to welcome you into the Awhina whanau, where you can access mentoring and extra support for your studies.

The Student and Academic Services team looks forward to meeting you. Take a few minutes to browse the services offered and described here and please make our office your first point of contact.

We trust that your years of study in the School of Architecture will be memorable and successful.

Students with impairments are protected by the "Meeting the Needs of Students with Impairements Policy". This policy aims to give students with impairments the same opportunity as other students to demonstrate their abilities. You should contact your course coordinator if you feel your impairment will hinder you academic performance in any way. You may wish to approach a Student Adviser from Disability Services to confidentially discuss your individual needs and the options and support that is available.
