Whānau Housing

Whānau Housing comprises 15 spaces in three flats for students with a knowledge of tikanga and te reo Māori. Residents are encouraged to participate in marae activities.

Hall Payments
Fees quoted are for 2012.
There are 38 weeks in an academic year.
The accommodation fees are payable to the hall in advance in quarterly instalments. If you do not have a New Zealand guarantor, you must pay for each trimester upfront.
Accommodation fee includes all electricity, heating and water charges.
Note: There is an extra charge for heavy use of electricity and/or internet.
Bedding can be supplied to accommodate whānau who may wish to visit for one or two days.

Residents are responsible for cleaning their own rooms and communal areas.

Residents are rostered to coordinate food purchases and meal preparation.

Location
Whānau flats are located approximately ten minutes from Kelburn campus and ten minutes from the city.

General Information
- Pastoral care at Whānau Housing is provided by Kathy Samuel, Tauhere Te Herenga Waka Marae.

Day-to-day operations are managed by the Head of Hall, University Hall Group.
