Te Kotahinga
Te Kotahinga provides fully furnished, self-contained houses and flats near Kelburn campus for 230 mature students. Priority is given to International students.
Rooms & Rates
The six self contained houses and 39 flats contain:

30 spaces in 15 shared rooms
Two flats are suitable for wheelchair access and one shared bedroom is available for students who have disabilities. Contact the hall to discuss suitability for your needs.

Hall Payments
Fees quoted are for 2012.
There are 38 weeks in an academic year.
The accommodation fees are payable for each trimester in advance unless you have a New Zealand guarantor. If you have a New Zealand guarantor, you pay in quarterly instalments
Accommodation fee includes:

electricity, heating and water

communal phone for local calls and moderate internet
Bed-linen in the flats but not the houses (linen packs are available to buy).
Note: Heavy use of electricity or internet can attract an extra charge.
Facilities

Phone in each flat and house with free local calls. Personal phone connections are at residents' own expense.

Most flat bedrooms are equipped with broadband access with internet usage through the University.

TVs with SKY/free-to-air channel access in each Kiwimate flat.

Washing machines and dryers in each flat and house, cost included in accommodation charge.

No off-street parking. On-street parking is in high demand.

Residents are responsible for cleaning their own rooms and share responsibility for communal areas.

Location
The houses and flats are situated in streets around Kelburn campus. Most are within five minutes walk of the campus and 10-20 minutes walk from the city centre.

General Information
- Summer residency is available.
- The Head of Hall, University Hall group, is assisted by University Hall office staff. There are also Residential Assistants living nearby to assist with pastoral care and Kiwimates who live in or near most of the flats to act as host and friend.
- Smoking is not permitted in any Te Kotahinga building.
