Hall Payments

Fees quoted are for 2012.

There are 38 weeks in an academic year. International students are required to pay each trimester's accommodation fees in advance. Those students with a New Zealand guarantor pay fortnightly in advance.

Power, phone and internet are additional.

Facilities

• Telephone/internet cables are connected to the lounge and bedrooms and can be activated through Telecom at the residents' own cost.

• Lounge with TV, pool table, and library books; music practice room with piano; study room; gym with table tennis table, badminton and volleyball court, basketball hoop; coin-operated photocopier.

• Vending machines for snacks and drinks.

• Self service, communal laundry with free washing machines and coin operated dryers. Outside clothes line is also available.

• Residents are responsible for cleaning their own flats. All communal areas are maintained.

• Limited uncovered parking available at weekly charge. Locked storage is available for bikes, surfboards, etc.

• One bed-sit flat is suitable for a student with a disability. Discuss suitability with the hall Manager.

Location

Everton Hall is set beside the cable car in pleasant hillside grounds above the city, a five minute walk to Kelburn campus or the CBD and 20 minutes to Pipitea Campus.

General Information

• Head of Hall, Ian Brown, lives on site with his wife and two cats (official Everton rodent control officers) assisted by two part time office administrators and four live-in Residential Assistants.

• Everton Hall is also open for individual Summer residency.

• From the 2012 academic year, smoking is not permitted anywhere in the buildings and grounds that make up the Everton Hall site.
