How to Apply

Essential Elements

Before your hall application will be considered, you must

  • submit a completed application form.

  • pay a once-only, non-refundable NZ$75 application fee
    NOTE: if you have already paid an application fee with a previous application you do not need to pay it again. Applicants coming under a group programme should check whether their agent is paying this fee on their behalf.

  • ensure your reference, if required, is received by the Accommodation Service. You can find more information about reference requirements here.

First Time Applicants

Completing all parts of the application process by mid September will allow time for any problems with your application fee payment or reference (if required) to be resolved before the 1 October cutoff for the first selection round.

International Applicants

The 1 October cut off time for the first selection round is computer controlled in New Zealand time which is up to 24 hours ahead of most of the rest of the world.

Late Applications

Applications are accepted after 1 October as some applicants who are offered places change their plans. Offers are made from November right through to February.

Trimester 2 Applications

1 May is the deadline for Trimester 2 applications. Offers are made from early May through to the end of June.
