Joan Stevens Hall

Joan Stevens Hall opened in 2011. It provides catered accommodation for first year students in single rooms in a high-rise building; 10-15 minutes walk from Kelburn campus and five minutes from the CBD.

235 residents all in single rooms. The rates for 2011 are:

Hall Payments
Fees quoted are for 2012.
There are 38 weeks in an academic year.
The accommodation fees are payable to the hall in advance in quarterly instalments. If you do not have a New Zealand guarantor, you must pay for each trimester upfront.
The catered accommodation fee includes all electricity, heating and water charges.

Phone on each floor with free local calls. National, international and mobile calls require a calling card.

Residents will be responsible for cleaning their own rooms and keeping their floor kitchenette clean and tidy. Communal areas will be cleaned by hall staff.

Location
The Hall is situated half way up one of the main streets of Wellington. It is on several bus routes but residents will be able to walk to Kelburn campus through a park for part of the way.

The Hall is managed by Victoria University staff.

There is a Head of Hall, an Office Administrator, a Residential Life Manager and Residential Assistants who will live on site and help provide pastoral and academic support and social activities.
