Hall Payments

Fees quoted are for 2012.

There are 38 weeks in an academic year.

The accommodation fees are payable to the hall in advance in quarterly instalments. If you do not have a New Zealand guarantor, you must pay for each trimester upfront.

The catered accommodation fee includes all electricity, heating and water charges.

Facilities

• Phone on each floor with free local calls. National, international and mobile calls require a calling card.

• Access to the university intranet available in all bedrooms.

• Wireless internet available in all common spaces, broadband in bedrooms.

• Large common areas with kitchenettes and TV on each floor.

• Designated study areas.

• Music room with piano.

• Communal coin-operated washing machines and dryers on several floors.

• Four wheelchair accessible bedrooms and bathroom facilities.

• Parking available at commercial rates.

• Residents will be responsible for cleaning their own rooms and keeping their floor kitchenette clean and tidy. Communal areas will be cleaned by hall staff.

Furniture

Basic bedroom furniture provided by the hall:

• Single bed and mattress protector

• Desk and chair

• Rubbish bin

• Wardrobe

• Shelves

• Pinboard

• Heating

Common areas are furnished by the hall.

Location

The Hall is situated half way up one of the main streets of Wellington. It is on several bus routes but residents will be able to walk to Kelburn campus through a park for part of the way.

General Information

• The Hall is managed by Victoria University staff.

• There is a Head of Hall, an Office Administrator, a Residential Life Manager and Residential Assistants who will live on site and help provide pastoral and academic support and social activities.

• The Hall is smoke-free.
