Kelburn campus

All about our main campus and the facilities you can find there.

Show my location

The Kelburn campus is the heart of the first-year experience at Victoria. Kelburn provides the full range of student support and administration offices, the Central Library and the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, Engineering and Education.

Finding your way around

Download the Kelburn campus map to find your way around. Buildings have their names abbreviated to two letters, and lecture theatres are signalled by ‘LT’. The first number signals what level they are on.

Services and amenities

Student services available at the Kelburn campus include Mauri Ora—Student Health and Wellbeing, the Recreation Centre, VicBooks and Victoria University of Wellington Students’ Association (VUWSA). There is also a selection of cafes and food outlets, a pharmacy and ANZ bank branch.

The Kelburn campus is a ten to fifteen minute walk up the hill from the city centre. The campus is on regular bus routes and can also be accessed by cable car. Limited parking is available for students and staff.

Campus developments

Victoria is committed to providing a first-class student experience and to being a globally ranked capital city university. Over the next three years the University will position itself for the future by investing in a new science building on the Kelburn campus and redeveloping Rutherford House in central Wellington and the Faculty of Architecture and Design buildings at Te Aro campus on Vivian Street.
