Applicant Criteria

Applications are considered from:

  • full-time senior international students (not school leavers) who are attending Victoria University of Wellington.

Applications are also considered from:

  • postgraduate students

  • families with dependent children

How to Apply

Te Kotahinga & Wai-te-ata

Individual applications for staying at Te Kotahinga and Wai-te-ata for the next academic year must be completed online or sent to Victoria University's Accommodation Office by October 1st. Applications received after this date will be placed on the wait list and considered as places become available.

You must read the University Hall Information Booklet and understand the terms and conditions of living in the hall, before accepting your offer of accommodation.

Whānau Housing

A knowledge of tikanga and te reo Māori is an advantage. Priority is given to students of Māori descent, but individual circumstances of other students are taken into account. Interviews will be conducted if necessary. Residents are encouraged to participate in Marae activities. Tauira who take up residency also make a committment to the whānau of Te Herenga Waka Marae.

Aro Valley and Family Flats

Applications for Aro Valley Flats in 2012 must be completed in November. Family Flat applications for 2012 must be completed online or sent to Victoria University's Accommodation Office by 1st October 2011. Applications received after this date will be placed on the wait list and considered as places become available.

Summer 2011-2012

The summer residence period runs from:

13 November 2011 - 25 February 2012

Summer applications are accepted at any time. Accommodation is available in Te Kotahinga and Wai-te-ata accommodation.
